besties is a developer collective making open source apps and services. We host a popular Forgejo instance at git.gay, a static website host at pages.gay, and more.
Our goal is to provide spaces and tools for everyone, free of cost- But, unfortunately, these services aren’t free to operate, and take significant time to maintain. As our services grow, the costs only rise. Paying these costs entirely out of pocket won’t always be sustainable, and to ensure that we can provide our services for the public we need funding. Donations help us cover service fees and our continued development and maintenance work.
Expenses
Our expenses fluctuate, but here's an estimate of our monthly expenses running our services as of May 2026, not counting anyone's time maintaining the services :)
