mycelibre

I run Utilibre.org, a collection of free, privacy-respecting online tools and public services. No subscriptions, no ads, no surveillance capitalism. Just useful software kept alive by an arguably unnecessary number of servers and one stubborn human.

The basic idea is simple: useful things on the internet should still exist without requiring an account, a subscription, a credit card, or the ceremonial sacrifice of your personal data.

I host and maintain these services myself, mostly using free and open-source software. I pay for the servers, storage, bandwidth, domains, backups, and the other less glamorous pieces of infrastructure that keep everything from catching fire.

Utilibre is free to use, and I intend to keep it that way.

Donations help cover those running costs and, when possible, let me add more useful services, improve reliability, and give existing ones a little more breathing room. You are not buying premium access, unlocking features, or joining an exclusive mushroom-themed inner circle. You are simply helping keep public tools available to everyone.

But first, a request: Utilibre runs on open-source software built by people far more talented than me. If you're going to donate to anyone, please start with them. I'm happy to be second in line.

If you use Utilibre and think, "Huh, that was useful," and there's something left over after that, supporting it here is one way to help make sure it continues to be useful.

And if you don't donate, that's fine too. The tools are still free. That's rather the point.
