About me
Hi, I'm David Revoy, a French artist born in 1981. I'm self-taught and passionate about drawing, painting, cats, computers, Gnu/Linux open-source culture, the Internet, old school RPG video games, old mangas and anime, traditional art, Japanese culture, and fantasy. With over 10 years of experience in freelance digital painting, teaching, concept art, illustration, and art direction, I started my own webcomic adventure supported by your patronage in 2014.
You can read my webcomics here: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/webcomics/peppercarrot.html

What I offer
I produce three main types of content:
- Comic Strip: MiniFantasy Theater episodes, released weekly, usually on Wednesdays.
- Longer Comic Episodes: New chapters of Pepper&Carrot, posted when ready, with production reports to keep you updated on my progress.
- Bonuses: Video tutorials, brushes, articles, hardware reviews, linux install guides, wallpaper, fonts, and more, released randomly as time permits.
You can find everything on my blog (www.davidrevoy.com) and website (www.peppercarrot.com). I also share updates on social media, using popular platforms and free/libre alternatives.

How I do that
My career is guided by a set of personal values:
- No Paywall: All my content is freely accessible to everyone on my blog and social media.
- Free/Libre and Open-Source Software: I use only software with publicly readable code and licenses that ensure they remain open.
- Libre Culture: My comic pages, artworks, videos, and other content are released under Creative Commons licenses (usually CC BY for Pepper&Carrot and CC BY-SA for MiniFantasyTheater).
- Sharing Source Files: I share all source files (Krita and Inkscape) on my website and Git repository.
- Collaborative: Pepper&Carrot episodes are proofread and translated with community feedback.
Why asking for patronage?
I believe that sharing, transmitting knowledge, learning, and collaborating are essential. Pepper&Carrot is a totally free webcomic and part of the free culture (like Wikipedia, Linux, etc.). All episodes and related content are released under Creative Commons attribution licenses. This means I encourage uses like commercial usage, re-publishing, and modifications/derivations for your own projects (3D models, movies, video games, fan art, etc.). I even offer source files and create them using 100% open-source tools. That's how I approach art: Free/Libre.
But how can I make a living creating Pepper&Carrot without the traditional industry model, without publishers, DRM, paywalls, and copyrights? Asking for donations is the best solution...
Tiers and Credits: How it works
Since I don't have a paywall, tiers mainly offer a larger font size in credits at the end of new Pepper&Carrot episodes. Check the graph here to see how I organize the credits.
On Liberapay, there is no "Tiers", so I just manually report names to each paragraph. Just make sure to enter a 'public name' here, and turn the privacy option to 'public'.
Credits are generated with each new Pepper&Carrot episode, featuring a snapshot of my patrons at that time. Book credits often reflect the last episode's credits.
